Ryan Gandra will face Osman Diaz. Their bout will take place 19 September 2026 at UFC 331 in Los Angeles, USA.
Ryan Gandra
Ryan understands what is expected of him at this numbered event — another finish. After all, Ozzy has been knocked out twice in four UFC fights. But if the Brazilian does not want to be put to sleep himself, he must remember the size difference.
Gandra once competed at heavyweight, but Diaz only recently came down from 205 lb and has a 5-inch reach advantage over him. To close the distance, the Brazilian will have to maintain a solid defence and make sure to use head movement.
Ryan needs to work his way towards his opponent in a composed manner, using heavy body attacks and distracting low kicks. Only then will he be able to get into the right range to land a devastating cross. After attacking, Gandra needs to move off immediately, as the American's boxing is far more dangerous than some of his performances might suggest.
Osman Diaz
Ozzy's main problem is that he gets caught by dangerous counterattacks when closing the distance. The American simply does not see these shots and, as a result, loses suddenly and goes down from the very first clean hit. But that does not mean he lacks competitive skills in other areas.
Diaz is quite capable of testing Gandra's wrestling, as he has conceded takedowns in LFA. On the ground, Ozzy will either earn control time or at least drain the Brazilian knockout artist's gas tank.
On the feet, the American must remember to keep countering with his hands and not let his opponent get too close. Yes, breaking down the Brazilian's defence will not be easy, but Ryan will not be able to knock Ozzy out quickly either if he meets firm resistance.
Ryan Gandra vs Osman Diaz Prediction
Ryan's status as favourite is built on his knockout power and good striking technique. But his advantage over Osman is not that significant when their size difference is taken into account.
Diaz has more than enough boxing ability to cover up against the Brazilian's attacks and answer with accurate counterpunches. He can secure finishes too: his record includes seven knockouts and two submissions, with only one decision.
Ozzy's chances are not as low as analysts suggest, especially given that he can trouble the Brazilian with his wrestling and respond well in exchanges at middle range. If Diaz has worked on his mistakes, he will be harder to finish than Gandra's previous opponents.
