Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2026 FIFA world cup qualifying match.
Uruguay
Uruguay have been almost perfect in this qualifying campaign, except for the defeat in the second round in the game versus Ecuador (1:2). Uruguay managed to end their game versus Colombia in a draw (2:2). They beat Brazil (2:0) and Argentina (2:0) consecutively in the last two rounds. Such perfect results versus very strong opponents speak for themselves. Besides, Uruguay have already scored 10 goals.
Bolivia
Bolivia managed to end their 4-games losing streak, beating Peru (2:0). However, it’s just a matter of luck. First, the game was played in La Paz, and elevation matters. Second, the Peruvian side is in a deep crisis. They were defeated by Brazil (1:5) and Argentina (0:3) in the first games. And Uruguay managed to beat the both top teams.
Uruguay vs Bolivia prediction
Bolivia are probably the main outsiders of the tournament. They’re helpless in away games. They have already conceded 11 goals, and they’re about to repeat their fate of the previous qualifying tournament when they were penultimate. They conceded 2,3 goals on average back then. Uruguay are way stronger, and they’re getting better after Marcelo Bielsa was appointed their head coach.
I suppose Bolivia will lose, with many goals conceded by them.
