Former Monaco coach Jardim to lead UAE's Al Ain

Leonardo Jardim, the former head coach of Monaco, is set to take charge of Al Ain in the United ***** Emirates.

According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Arabian club has reached an agreement with the 50-year-old Portuguese manager on a contract that will last until the summer of 2025. An official announcement about Jardim's appointment is expected later this week.

Previously, Al Ain had dismissed their head coach Hernan Crespo, the former striker for Inter Milan and Lazio. The Argentine took over the team in November 2023 and led them to victory in the Asian Champions League last season.

Leonardo Jardim served as Monaco's head coach from 2014 to 2018 and returned to the role in January 2019 before being dismissed in December of the same year. Under his leadership, the team reached the Champions League semi-finals and won the French championship in the 2016/17 season. Jardim's most recent position was with Qatar's Al-Rayyan, which he left in June.
