Review of the bookmaker SportPesa from Legalbet
The SportPesa brand started life in 2014 in Kenya and joined the UK Sports Gaming market in 2016. Operations in the UK are overseen by TGP Europe Limited, which is licensed and regulated in Great Britain by the UK Gambling Commission. The name SportPesa is a blend of the English word “Sport” and the Kiswahili word for “Money.”
Odds — normal
We calculated the margin for SportPesa by analysing the odds they offer and placed them into one of the following three categories:
From 1% to 5%: Good value
Over 5% to 7%: Average value
Over 7% to 10%: Poor value
We got our results by taking the "Match result" odds and also the over/under 2.5 goals odds for different matches in different football leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.
SportPesa has an overall average margin of 5.82% for football and falls in the average category. In the first section with Premier League and Championship, the margin is at 5.04%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 5.05%. Finally, taking matches from around the rest of the world into account, the margin is at 7.37%.
Betting options — normal
SportPesa covers several sports worldwide and has a “Virtual” betting section. The sports categories they list are Football, American Football, Basketball, Tennis, Ice Hockey, Rugby Union, Rugby League, Motorsport, Cycling, Cricket, Baseball, MMA, Boxing, MMA, Boxing, Darts, Golf, Snooker, Esports +, and E-Football.
Live — normal
Bettors can find thousands of In-Play markets under SportPesa’s “Live Now” tab. The bookmaker has a decent selection of events available for live betting with In-Play markets for sports such as football, tennis, and basketball.
Unfortunately, SportPesa does not have a live streaming feature. However, it does have some TV coverage of sports within the In-Play section. There is a handy panel that provides statistical detail and graphics to get you as deep into the action as possible.
SportPesa Mobile App
SportPesa provides an extremely refined sports betting app, which many of its dedicated customers have already downloaded. The app is free and readily available on Google Play and the App Store for Android and iOS users.

How to Bet at SportPesa
SportPesa has created a straightforward betting procedure. No matter the sport you choose, the steps are pretty much the same.
The first step is to choose which sport you want to bet on. There are two options here. You can use the quick links or navigate to the “Sportsbook” section in the main lobby. The “Sportsbook” is divided into “Top Leagues,” which has the most popular leagues and competitions, and a “Menu.” The “Menu” has a complete list of all the sports that SportPesa has odds for.
In this example, we clicked on “Football.” The drop-down menu that pops up when you click on this section shows all the betting markets (countries and continents) that SportPesa covers. When we clicked on England, we could view all the competitions covered by SportPesa. Here, we clicked on Premier League.
The Premier League section is divided into “Match Odds” and “Outrights.” The “Match Odds” section lists all the live and upcoming games. In contrast, the “Outrights” section lets you bet on which team will likely clench the EPL 2022/2023 title. If you are not betting In-Play, scroll down and choose one of the upcoming games.
Here we chose the Arsenal vs Brighton match, which will be played on 14th May 2023. On this page, you can scroll down to view all the betting markets that SportPesa has odds for, but we will simply bet on Arsenal to win.
Once you have clicked on the odds, a panel with your new betslip will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. You should enter the stake in the box to view your estimated wins. If you are happy with everything, click on “Place bet.”
How to Withdraw at SportPesa
Withdrawing funds from your SportPesa account is also a straightforward process. To withdraw from any bookmaker, you must be logged in and have a withdrawable balance.
Follow the steps below to withdraw funds from SportPesa:
The first step is to access your SportPesa account. When logging in, you will need to provide your username and password. Next, confirm that you have a withdrawable balance. Note that SportPesa allows for a minimum withdrawal limit of £10. Your account balance is indicated at the top right corner of the homepage.
If you have met the threshold, click the blue “Deposit” icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. If you use the mobile application, tap on your username in the top right-hand corner to access the cashier’s section. Choose the “Withdraw” icon from the drop-down menu and select the method you will use for withdrawal.
A pop-up box will appear where you will be prompted to withdraw available funds. In this example, we used a debit card. When you click on the debit card option, you will see the card details you last used to deposit. Enter the amount you want to withdraw and click the “Withdraw” icon. The funds will be reflected in your account within the specified withdrawal time.

SportPesa Casino Review
SportPesa has a casino section on its website, which can be accessed by clicking the “Casino” tab on the homepage. The games here are provided by Pragmatic Play and PGSoft. In addition to the most popular casino games you would expect to see, such as Blackjack and Roulette, there is also a huge range of slots games, with new games added frequently.
