Review of the bookmaker McBookie from Legalbet

McBookie opened in 2009 and aims to put Scottish sports and Scottish punters first. Claiming to provide the best Scottish bookmaker experience possible, McBookie aims to provide customers with great customer experience and a first class betting service.

Odds — normal

We calculated the margin for McBookie by analysing the odds they offer and placed them into one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We got our results by taking the "Match result" odds and also the over/under 2.5 goals odds for different matches in different football leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

McBookie has an overall average margin of 6.75% for football and falls in the average category. In the first section with Premier League and Championship, the margin is at 6.33%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 6.34%. Finally, taking matches from around the rest of the world into account, the margin is at 7.57%.

Betting options — normal

Range of Sports: With 30 sports to choose from McBookie provides customers with a fairly large amount of sports. With no real specials markets the full range of McBookie sports are the commonly seen sports such as Football, Horse racing, Formula 1, Tennis, Cricket and Golf.

Range of Bets and Markets: McBookie provides a good range of markets and a handicap section for customers looking for a more niche choice of bet. With most large events offering 150+ markets McBookie provides a slightly below average amount however still plenty of bets.

Betting Limits: The maximum amount one customer can win per day is £500,000. As well as this overall daily limit McBookie places limits on individual sports as well. For example, the most a player can win on football daily is £100,000 and a similar limit applies to horse racing and many other sports. Although this limit is very high and will likely never be reached by most players, some high stakes gamers may wish to check their sport of choice before placing a large sum on any market.

In-play — good

McBookie provides players with a good in play betting experience offering a great range of markets and sports to bet on.. With a variety of features such as cash out and an excellent statistics centre as well as quickly updating odds on in play events.
