Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Luton Town are struggling to rise from the bottom, while Cardiff City continue their winning home streak, although the relegation zone remains uncomfortably close. Who will get the much-needed boost in momentum?
Luton Town
Luton Town average less than a point per game and find themselves in the relegation zone, which is even worse than their situation last year in the Premier League. Back then, they were at least above the drop zone. Despite this, head coach Rob Edwards retains his position. Is there a chance for them to win this game? At home, Luton Town score in every match without exception, which is a positive. However, they concede in every game except the match against Watford, resulting in three defeats. There are two draws and only two wins, indicating their winning chances are less than 30%.
Cardiff City
Since October, Cardiff City haven't lost at home. In fact, they haven't dropped any points, conceding only to Norwich City in the last round. However, their away form tells a different story: no wins. Though they managed draws in their last two away games against Bristol City (1:1) and West Bromwich Albion (0:0), both opponents from the upper half of the table. Their last slip-up was against Hull City on September 28 (1:4), but since then they've been on a six-match unbeaten run.
Luton Town vs Cardiff City Prediction
Luton Town may be playing at home, but there's little confidence that this will help them, especially considering recent history: three narrow wins under Rob Edwards when the club was much more assured of their success. Now, doubts prevail. We will go with a "double chance" for Cardiff City.
