Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Just two rounds ago, Queens Park Rangers were ten places ahead of Hull City in the table, but everything has drastically changed in a couple of weeks. Now, Hull City are five spots ahead of QPR. What happened? And what's next?
Queens Park Rangers
The London side stumbled twice. This is one factor. Another is that they failed to score for the first time this season. They couldn't find the net against Blackburn Rovers, a club whose defence was previously quite generous. It seems Blackburn Rovers have found their balance. QPR also drew with Millwall. Draws are a hallmark of the team. No one has more draws than they (4) this season. The team needs a win, but a crisis looms.
Hull City
Hull City, on the other hand, have found their stride in attack. Or perhaps they've just gotten lucky with their finishing. Seven goals in two wins is impressive. Cardiff City's defence was a gift, making it easy to score four goals. However, scoring three against Stoke City was an achievement; only Watford managed that, and even then, only at home, while Hull City did it away. Note Hull City's high conversion rate in these two matches: 22.6% from 31 shots and 2.93 goals above their xG.
Queens Park Rangers vs Hull City Prediction
Hull City have found their rhythm and, most importantly, now believe in their abilities. Their ideas are starting to take effect, so we can expect their winning or at least unbeaten streak to continue.
