Brighton thrashes Everton in first official match under 31-Year-Old Hürzeler
Brighton achieved a commanding 3-0 victory over Everton in their opening match of the English Premier League (EPL). The encounter took place at Goodison Park in Liverpool.
The goals for the visitors came from Kaoru Mitoma in the 26th minute, Danny Welbeck in the 56th minute, and Simon Adingra in the 87th minute.
Everton found themselves down to ten men in the 66th minute after defender Ashley Young received a straight red card.
This match marked Brighton's first win under the management of Fabian Hürzeler, who took charge of the Seagulls in June and has become the youngest manager in Premier League history.
Brighton earned three points, propelling them to the top of the English league table, while Everton, yet to score, languishes at the bottom in 20th place.
In the next round, the Seagulls will host Manchester United, while the Toffees will face Tottenham Hotspur away. Both matches are scheduled for August 24.
