Vardy tops Premier League goals scored after age 30
Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy leads the English Premier League (EPL) in goals scored after turning 30.
On Monday, August 19, the 37-year-old striker found the back of the net in the opening match of the season against Tottenham, securing a 1-1 draw for his team.
According to Opta, this goal marked Vardy’s 103rd in the top tier of English football scored at age 30 or older. Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright holds the second spot on this list, having netted 93 goals after turning 30.
Notably, Vardy has scored 75% of his EPL goals after reaching the age of 30.
Jamie Vardy has been with Leicester since 2012. He made his EPL debut in the 2014/15 season at the age of 27. In the following campaign, Leicester City, under the management of Claudio Ranieri, made headlines by winning the Premier League title, with Vardy scoring in an astonishing 11 consecutive matches, setting a league record. In 2021, the forward lifted both the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Leicester.
