Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serbian SuperLiga match.
A challenging start for Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League should not affect the capital club's dominance in the Serbian championship. The derby against Partizan was quite calm for them in 2024, and they remain the favourites now.
Partizan
In the Europa Conference League qualifiers, Partizan unexpectedly failed in three consecutive rounds, not even reaching the final stage. Since the start of the campaign, the team has only secured 4 victories in 12 matches across all competitions. Following a setback against OFK Beograd (2:3) in the last round, Partizan fell to seventh in the league standings. Furthermore, they have the fewest goals among the top 10 teams in the SuperLiga (9).
Crvena Zvezda
In the final qualifying round of the Champions League, Crvena Zvezda heroically overcame Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt (2:1) and even managed to put up a fight against Benfica in the group stage (1:2). Against the Portuguese club, the Serbian side was more active in attack (16-10 in shots), and the introduction of Felício Milson and Cherif Ndiaye off the bench produced their only goal. In the league, Crvena Zvezda are excelling: in seven matches, they have secured six victories and one draw, and it’s worth noting that they lead in goals scored (21) and goals conceded (4).
Partizan vs Crvena Zvezda Prediction
In April, Partizan lost twice in the derby within four days (2:3 and 0:2). Currently, Crvena Zvezda significantly surpasses their neighbour once again, so the visitors will capitalise on their opportunities and claim three points.
