Strictly Come Dancing – What Is It?
Strictly Come Dancing is a television program where celebrities are paired with professional dancers. Each week, the professional dancer teaches their celebrity dance partners a new dance, which they perform together, live on television, on Saturday night. Each dance is scored out of ten by each of the four judges, earning the dancing contestants points for their positions on the leaderboard.
Once all of the couples have performed their dances, the public can vote for their favourite couples, also earning them points. The two couples with the least points overall compete in a dance off on Sunday night. Finally, the judges vote for the couple they think should stay and will progress to the next week. The couple with the least votes from the judges then leave the competition.
At the end of the competition, three couples compete in the final, with the winner being decided by the public vote alone. The winning celebrity and their professional dancer partner get to lift the Glitterball Trophy.
The Strictly Betting Markets
Unfortunately, when it comes to Strictly Come Dancing markets, most Strictly Come Dancing betting sites only offer outright markets. However, we have worked hard to find the best Strictly bookies who offer several markets for your entertainment. Here, we outline the available Strictly betting markets on offer.
Betting on the Overall Winner
This is the most popular of the Strictly Come Dancing betting markets. Also known as an outright market, you are betting on the celebrity that you think is most likely to win the whole competition and lift the Glitterball Trophy.
Gender of Winner
Exactly as it sounds, with this type of bet, you are betting on whether the winning celebrity is male or female.
Next Contestant to Be Eliminated
When selecting odds on the next contestant to be eliminated, you are betting on the celebrity to lose the dance off and exit the competition, that coming weekend.
Top Male/Female
Here, you are betting on the highest-performing male or female in the competition. This way, you do not have to correctly predict the winner of the whole competition. For example, you may wager that Fleur East is the best female celebrity dancer this year. Your bet will still be successful even if Fleur finishes second, third or even fourth, provided that she finishes in a higher position than any other female celebrity, when voting for her as the top female.
Bottom Two Forecast
With a bottom two forecast, you are betting on the celebrity to be eliminated that week, as well as the other celebrity to be in the bottom two (dance off) that week. Both predictions must be satisfied for your bet to be successful.
Two/Three Chances to Win
With this bet type, you can choose two, or even three, celebrities that you think might win Strictly Come Dancing. Any one of your selections can win for your bet to be settled in your favour.

How To Calculate Strictly Come Dancing Odds
When calculating the payout from fractional odds, it is helpful to remember that the number on the left (numerator) is the amount that you can win, and the number on the right (denominator) is the amount that you need to wager in order to win the amount shown by the numerator. For example, if the odds are 3/1, you can win £3 for every £1 wagered.
To calculate your payout, you can divide your stake by the denominator, then multiply your answer by the numerator. Then, add your original stake on, to find your settlement figure, should your bet win.
For example, imagine you have placed a bet of £15 on Helen Skelton TV presenter, to win Strictly Come Dancing this year, at odds of 7/2.
First divide your stake by the denominator:
15 ÷ 2 = 7.5
Then multiply your answer by the numerator:
7.5 x 7 = 52.5
Finally, add your original stake back on:
52.5 + 15 = £67.50 payout (your original stake of £15, plus £52.50 profit)
Strictly Come Dancing Betting Tips & Strategies
We want you to really enjoy your Strictly Come Dancing betting experience, and generally, that means winning! So, in this section, we share our best Strictly betting tips and strategies.
-
Know your Strictly Come Dancing dances - If you are a big Strictly fan, you will know that one of the most difficult dances for celebrities to perform is the rumba. This is useful to know because the couple's next dances are always announced ahead of time. Therefore, if you feel there is a particularly weak contestant and they are dancing the rumba this week, it might be worth taking a punt on them being the next celebrity to be eliminated from the competition.
-
Track form - As the competition progresses, it becomes easier to get a feel for who is a strong contender for the Glitterball Trophy, and who is likely to score poorly with the judges. Studying this information can help you to make an informed wager.
-
Who is popular with the public? - Again, as the weeks pass on Strictly Come Dancing, it is possible to get a good idea of who is particularly popular with the public - or not. Who keeps getting voted back each week, despite being at the bottom of the leaderboard? Who keeps ending up in the bottom two, despite scoring well with the judges on Saturday night. Until recently, there was little point in betting on Tony Adams to be eliminated, as he was repeatedly saved week on week by the public, despite consistently finishing at the bottom of the leaderboard, after the judges' votes.

Strictly Come Dancing 2022 Contestants
Of course, Strictly Come Dancing is all about the celebrity dancers, so let's take a look at this year's remaining participants. We have provided an overview of each celebrity, below:
-
Fleur East is a singer-songwriter, TV and radio presenter. She wowed judges with her week 8 samba showing that she can turn things around after finding herself in the dance off on more than one occasion.
-
Helen Skelton is a TV and radio broadcaster. While she has lacked confidence to begin with, her performance skills are beginning to develop, making her a stronger contender.
-
Will Mellor is an actor and was an early bookies favourite to win this year's Strictly. However, while his performances have been consistent, he hasn't topped the leaderboard since week one of the competition.
-
Tyler West, a TV presenter, radio host and DJ, has received mixed success week on week with regard to his results from the judges. At times, he shows brilliance, but might be too much of a risk for an outright bet.
-
Molly Rainford, singer and actor well known by Cbeebies fans as Nova Jones, is dancing well despite finding herself in the dance off more than once. However, her rumba last week kept her safe after Shirley Ballas described it as one of the best she's seen on Strictly.
-
Hamza Yassin, known to millions of toddlers and their parents as Ranger Hamza, has impressed the judges and viewers alike with his natural dance ability and musicality with several leaderboard-topping performances, despite describing his initial dance skills as '1970s disco vibe'. She is the bookies favorite for Strictly glory this year.
-
Kym Marsh is an actor, TV presenter and singer. Her performance scores have been mixed, and she has had to battle to survive the dance off in order to keep her place in the competition.
-
Ellie Taylor is a comedian, broadcaster, writer and actor. With the exception of one leaderboard-topping week, Ellie and her partner Johannes have finished in the danger zone around the middle of the leaderboard, but the public seem to love her as the couple have yet to find themselves in the dance off.
