Review of the bookmaker BoyleSports from Legalbet
Boylesports is the second largest bookmaker in Ireland and although its big Brother PaddyPower gets most of the spotlight in the UK Boylesports also provide a very decent service.
Boylesports was founded in 1982 by John Boyle and has grown from just one shop to a total of 270 retail branches across the UK and Ireland.
Odds — bad
We calculated the margin for BoyleSports by analyzing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:
From 1% to 5%: Good value
Over 5% to 7%: Average value
Over 7% to 10%: Poor value
We got our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the over / under for different football leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.
BoyleSports has an overall average margin of 7.26% for football and falls in the normal category. In the first section with Premier League and Championship, the margin is at 6.59%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, the margin is at 8.73%. Finally, taking the French Ligue 1, Irelands Premier Division and Dutch Eredivisie into account, the margin is at 7.26%.
Range of Sports and Markets - Average
Range of Sports: There is the full range of sports to bet on with better than average coverage on Irish focused Gaelic sports and Irish Horse racing. They offer everything you would expect but Horse racing, both UK and Irish, is where they focus, pulling in a lot of independent data available on the site to help with your selections.
Range of bets and markets: This varies for each sport but Football has several hundred betting propositions to chose from on each game. All sports have an above average range, if you want to bet on something, chances are Boyles will have priced it up.
Betting Limits: The limits you can bet are initially high but can be cut quickly of you are a winning punter. Incidently there is an initial max win amount of £100,000 in a day for UK football which is also relatively low.
In-Play Betting - Average
To bet “In Play” at Boylesports you can access all the available games from the top menu on the site. The Boylesports in-play section has a lot of information crammed into a small space and at times it can look quite crowded, but it is usable. A tip is to filter and close the sports that you aren’t interested in, leaving the ones that you are interested in on the screen.
For every game in progress, you are shown a range of statistics which helps analyse the markets, and odds changes are clearly highlighted by coloured flashes on the screen. Odds can change quickly but are usually good value, and bets get accepted quickly.
