Review of the bookmaker BetRegal from Legalbet

BetRegal was founded in 2020 and is part of the Aspire group of websites. It is ultimately owned by the BetRegal Group who is a company incorporated in Malta. They claim that the site was "born from the idea that there was an underserved segment of the I-gaming community". They say that they are focused on "Providing the most value possible to our customers" and they offer "low margin sports betting" to their customers.

At BetRegal they claim to take customer service very seriously and try to ensure that "every customer has an experience fit for a king. In our experience, their customer support is sarcastic and does not do what they say they will do. However, we may have just had a one-off bad agent.

Odds - Average

We calculated the margin for BetRegal by analyzing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We got our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the over / under for different football leagues. Getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

BetRegal has an overall average margin of 5.58% for football and falls in the average margins category. In the first section with Premier League and Championship, the margin is at 5.76%. The second section with Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A and Bundesliga, the margin is at 4.97%. Finally, taking Denmark Superleague, Russian Premier Liga and Turkish Super Lig into account, the margin is at 6.00%.

Range of Sports and Markets - Good

Range of Sports: BetRegal has a large range of sports for you to bet on, at time of writing some 30, including such specialist sports as “Bandy”. From their website they claim to focus on:

“football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, volleyball, horse racing, greyhounds, Aussie rules, badminton, baseball, boxing, cricket, cycling, darts, e-sports, American football, futsal, golf, handball, MMA, motor racing, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, pool, speedway, surfing, table tennis, and more.”

Football is where they have focused most of their coverage and you can bet anywhere from “Burkina Faso” to “Uzbekistan” if there is a competitive football game taking place anywhere on the planet it will have been priced up. The layout is simple and practical to navigate and easy it is easy to get your bets on and know when they have been accepted.

Range of Bets and Markets: Within each league or tournament, you shall find both match odds for individual games as well as outright bets (League Winner, Top Goal Scorer, etc). The markets for betting on a match are large and range from the standard correct scores, over/under, and Asian Handicaps to more creative and occasionally unique proposition bets such as “a player to hit the woodwork”, or “score from outside the box”.

Betting Limits: BetRegal has below average bet limits but the limits are still large enough for the vast majority of recreational gamblers.

In-Play Betting - Average

Most football matches have both in-play betting and the “BetRegal cash-out feature”. The odds offer less value in play than they do pre match and are updated remarkably quickly.

When you place a bet it seems to “hang“ but it is just about an acceptable length of time. There is no live streaming of games but you can tell what is happening with a little graphic display of possession and the current action, which can help you determine how the game is progressing.

A positive is that they have “Pulse Betting” which is an innovative football feature where you predict will a goal be scored in the next 30 seconds, minute, or five minutes, in the game.
